ROUND TWO vs Thurgoona
Seniors Football: 15.9 99 - 10.10 - 70
As expect against Thurgoona we faced a highly physical, high-pressure contest, with the Bushies producing a strong first half but failing to capitalise on key opportunities, heading into the break slightly behind. Thurgoona made the most of their chances in the second half to pull away. Kayde Surrey was again best on ground, leading superbly in defence, while young talents Rourke Warner and Ted Ritchie continued their strong development. Liam Stephens battled hard all day, consistently impacting the contest. The Bushies now turn their attention to a massive challenge against Kiewa, marking the start of a demanding month of footy ahead.

The buzz in the 2’s this year, is so exciting! The improvement from this week to last is already massive, especially against such a quality team in Thurgoona. The belief in the boys already is so exciting and we are ready to compete.
Keeping that momentum going will definitely set us up for a great fight in the coming weeks.

The team played brilliantly this morning! Awards were difficult to give only because they all played so well. Their efforts at training really showed with some great tackling, passing and teamwork. Well deserved win!

A Grade Netball: 56 - 24
It was a solid effort by our A Grade Girls this week. They held them for 3 quarters, and worked incredibly hard all the way up the court. Thurgoona took off in the last quarter, and we didn't have the legs to keep up.
Kera and Teg are showing us what are strong and dynamic duo they are becoming in the defensive circle whilst Cav created some really strong leadership in the attack end this week. We leave round 2 with lots to work on but confident that we can this team will grow to its full potential.

C Grade Netball:
The girls fought hard today and came away with second place. They showed amazing team work and support throughout all four quarters. Most of the girls played positions they are not use to playing, they didn’t give up and they played with confidence. They should be proud of their efforts!

C Res Netball
A hard fought game by the C res girls against the reigning premiers! I have nothing but praise for the way the girls played, they kept their heads up and fought til the end coming off second best! With a few position mix ups and missing players the girls should be proud of how they presented themselves!

Under 17s Netball
After a challenging start, the team showed fantastic resilience and determination to turn the game around. As the match went on, they adapted well to changes and lifted their intensity across the court. The defensive pressure was outstanding, and the constant encouragement between teammates kept the energy high. The girls worked hard for each other and never gave up, making a strong comeback and finishing the game only 10 points behind. A great effort and a performance the team can be proud of.
Himalayan Guiding: Lola was brilliant in WD today. Her front cuts, pressure over every ball, and ability to come forward for the next pass were exceptional. She also picked up some fantastic intercepts and worked tirelessly all game.
Last Street: Lucy played an amazing role in GK. She was initially unsure how to approach her opponent, but after taking on feedback to move around the body, create confusion in space, and attack the rebound with two hands, she made a huge impact. Her effort not only supported the team but also built her confidence in contesting and winning the ball.
Beechworth Bakery: Daisy was outstanding today, consistently making herself available for her teammates and providing a strong option through the midcourt. Her communication and encouragement lifted those around her, while her drives and vision into the ring were excellent. Daisy showed great composure in releasing the ball to our holding shooters, playing a key role in our attacking flow.
Under 15’s Netball - 36 - 32
The U15’s demonstrated great determination in such a highly competitive and physical game. Their commitment to teamwork and execution under pressure was evident across all quarters, and they should be proud of their effort in such a closely contested game. Despite their strong effort, they were narrowly defeated in the final quarter with the score finishing at 36-32.

A beautiful morning to be courtside! Our 13s showed great determination and never stopped working hard across the court against a very strong Thurgoona side. Despite a challenging match, the team kept their heads up and played with great spirit right to the final whistle. Thurgoona came away with the win, 55–4, but there was plenty to be proud of in the effort and resilience shown today.

Our U13’s development team put in a fantastic performance today, showing great teamwork and effort throughout the game. Their focus on getting hands up led to some awesome intercepts and really made a difference on the court. They finished in second place with a score of 14–19. A great result and plenty to be proud of, especially after already playing a full game against a strong U13 side earlier. A huge effort all round!

A much closer game this week, going down 8-13, with a huge improvement across the whole team. It was fantastic to see the girls putting into practice everything we’ve been focusing on at training, with great effort and teamwork throughout the game. Award winners this week were well deserved. The improvement from Round 1 is very noticeable from the sidelines, which has been wonderful to watch. Well done girls on another great game!
