ROUND THREE vs Kiewa Sandy Creek
Seniors Football 4.7 31 - 14.23 107
Beechworth fell to Kiewa, with the reigning premiers proving too strong and showcasing their depth of match-winners across the ground. Despite the result, our boys worked hard all day to create opportunities and, in patches, looked exciting with their ball movement. It was encouraging to see our young players continuing to develop and play some good football. Kayde Surrey returned to his usual form and was well supported by Cam, Hugh, and Sammy Johnson, who is settling in nicely at the club.

This weekend, we faced the leagues powerhouse team, Both teams came out hitting the ground running.
We never allowed Kiewa to kick away and were in the game all day. The boys made each contest a dog fight and ran the game out, they didn’t give up once and fought hard until the final whistle. The 2nds are building a great atmosphere and with the addition of a couple boys next we are only going to get better

A Grade Netball 15 - 64
Our A Grade team faced a strong Keiwa side today, who proved a tough challenge. Despite the result, the girls pulled together some great passages of play and created valuable turnovers through strong defensive pressure down the court. Score aside, A grade showed determination and effort never dropped across the court.

A tough week for B grade this week who stepped up against a very strong side. Everyone put it their all and despite the end result put up a strong fight. And a big congrats to Matilda Collins who hit her 1000 goal milestone today!

C Grade Netball 21 - 59
Congratulations to Sox on her 150th game, a massive achievement!
The girls started off strong, and had some fantastic play throughout the game. Unfortunately, they didn’t take home the win. The defensive worked tirelessly throughout the game providing plenty of turnovers and the attackers provided some fantastic drives and great front cuts. It was a great performance to watch!

C Res Netball 16 - 46
C res started well and faded against another strong side in Kiewa (16-46). A few positions switches and changes to the side were taken on board by the girls! The encouragement and positivity from this team shines through every week and I’m super impressed by the girls attitudes and their drive to be better. The amount of turn overs our defenders in the ring worked to get were incredible! Beth and Kathryn worked amazingly in GK and GD, and adjusted their game play to suggestions that were made! They were both incredible at taking on board the advice given to them! Taylor in her first game in C res, also in defence delivered an incredibly positive attitude and worked well and built everyone up in their game!

Under 17s Netball 24-38
Today’s match was a high-intensity contest with great effort shown across the court. The team demonstrated strong combinations between positions, working the ball well and supporting each other through every passage of play. Despite the pressure, the girls never put their heads down and continued to encourage one another throughout the game. Their teamwork and determination were clear to see, and although the final result was a 14-goal loss, the effort and connection as a team was very positive.

Under 13’s Netball 10-38
The 13s showed great enthusiasm this week, with our focus on driving to the ball and clearing out to re-offer in attack. There were some excellent passages of play, including a few well-placed long passes into the goal circle. Defensive pressure was solid, with plenty of hands up leading to intercepts. Kiewa came away with the win, 38-10, but a great team effort with plenty of positives to build on.

Under 13’s Res Netball 19-11
The Under 13s reserve team celebrated a 19–11 win today. The girls responded well to coach feedback and listened to the umpire to learn throughout the game. Their hands-over pressure was effective, and they demonstrated excellent patience with passing, slowing the play after turnovers. Team support was outstanding, with encouragement both on and off the court.

Under 11’s Netball 12-6
The girls celebrated their first win of the season with a fantastic 12-6 result, and it couldn’t have been more deserved. It was an amazing game to watch, their pressure through the centre court was outstanding, creating multiple turnovers. And it was great to see the shooters grow in confidence and accuracy as the game progressed.
