ROUND TEN vs Tallangatta
Seniors Football: 11.9 75 - 4.5 29
Tallangatta made the most of the wet and slippery conditions, getting off to a strong start and putting Beechworth on the back foot for much of the day. Despite the early challenge, the Bushrangers continued to compete strongly and refused to let the game get away from them. After half-time, the boys began to find some momentum, creating more opportunities and taking the game up to their opponents. It was a tough contest in difficult conditions, but the effort and resilience shown by the Beechworth side could not be questioned. The players never gave up and battled right to the final siren, displaying plenty of character throughout the afternoon. While the result did not go their way, there were encouraging signs to build on in the weeks ahead.

While the Ressies were outplayed on park, it was still a super effort, given more than 10 changes from the week before. Hot Sauce turned back the clock and had a ripping game in tough conditions. Thanks to the Flat Rockers who turned out in big numbers to help out.

A Grade Netball: 49 - 19
Tough conditions against a strong opposition saw A Grade go down to Tallangatta, 49–19.
Despite the slippery conditions and being short on players, the girls battled hard and played out the game with determination. Stepping up from B Grade this week, Emma was impressive in defence, applying consistent pressure in the ring. Lainey moved into a defensive role and made an impact, getting hands to the ball and creating several valuable turnovers. The ever-reliable Han worked tirelessly through WD, applying great pressure and providing excellent space down the court to help transition the ball out of defence.

B Grade Netball: 51 - 26
Our first really wet game for the season and we had girls slip sliding everywhere. We had Jaimie, Kelly and Lara step up from C Grade for the week, and they all put in a really great effort. Matilda continues to hold her own in the goals, with the support of the old girl next to her. Tilly continues to drive hard through the midcourt and pass to her one friend consistently, whilst Christie is always desperate for just one pass from her.
Awards: Goldfields Greengrocer: Jaimie, Tiny: Tilly, Hotel Nicholas: Christie
C Grade Netball: 48 - 24
Congratulations to Anni, Abbi and Lucy who came up from C grade from the 17s today. They played their first senior games today and did a fantastic job. Every goal we set at the start of the game was met by all the C graders today. Best on went to Lara, who played hard all game. Lots of drives and defensive efforts. 2nd went to Lisa who steadied our attack end. 3rd Lily, great in defence, and worked well bringing the ball into attack end.

C Res Netball: 30 - 21
A great effort from the girls once again, unfortunately going down in the finish. The girls fought super hard until the end and are working well as a team, following up loose balls and adjusting the game to suit them. The girls are continuously improving and taking on things practiced at training. A new shooting combination worked beautifully today as well.

U17’s Netball: 48 - 15
The U17s had a tough game today, going down to Tallangatta in challenging wet and cold conditions. Despite the weather, the girls put in a fantastic effort and never stopped competing. Harper played beautifully today, showing excellent accuracy and composure in GA. She was a fantastic playmaker, working hard to create opportunities and keeping the attack line moving all game. Isla was outstanding in WA, providing great space through the midcourt and driving strongly onto the ball. She worked hard to play off her opponent and was a consistent option for her teammates. Lucy had a wonderful game in defence, applying strong hands-over pressure and adapting exceptionally well to the wet conditions. Her determination and defensive effort were a highlight throughout the match.
Well done, girls, for your effort and resilience in difficult conditions.

U15’s Netball: 52 - 49
A tough loss today after leading for most of the game, eventually going down by three goals in the final quarter, 52-49.
Our defenders did a great job implementing our defensive strategies, while credit also goes to the opposition defenders, whose speed and pressure made things challenging for our attackers throughout the game. There were plenty of positives to take away despite the result. It was a clean and enjoyable game to watch with both teams showing great sportsmanship throughout.

Under 15’s Res:
I can not remember the score however the girls put all the work we have been doing at training into today’s game and absolutely killed it. I’m very proud of them all.

U13s Netball: 39 - 7
The 13’s put in a terrific effort against a skilled Tallangatta side, with the final score 39–7. The girls were receptive to coach feedback, working to disrupt the opposition's movement down the court in defence and create space for leads in attack. It was encouraging to see the team's persistence and willingness to keep applying these strategies throughout the game. Well done.
Awards: Hotel Nicholas: Millie, Project 49: Elsie; Lemongrass - Isis
U13’s Res Netball: 28 - 15
13Res played well against Tallangatta today, going down 28–15. The team worked on opening up the court in attack and applying defensive pressure with hands-up over the ball. There were plenty of positive passages of play, and most pleasing was seeing the girls enjoying their netball and continuing to build confidence and skills as a team.

U11’s Wodonga Netball: 25 - 1
U11’s Wodonga team fought hard against a very strong opposition this week, going down 25-1. Despite the score, it was fantastic to see the team put into practice the 3 key focus areas we worked on at training and, most importantly, work together as a team throughout the game. The effort from every player was outstanding, with everyone working hard to get in front of their player, stay accountable in defence, and support their teammates across the court. The determination and willingness to keep trying right until the final whistle was great to see.
