ROUND SEVENTEEN vs Chiltern

Seniors Football: 8.7 55 - 14.9 93 (Defeated)

The Seniors went down against a spirited Swans outfit this week. After a slow start and giving a handy lead to the opposition, the lads gained momentum in the 2nd half of the 2nd quarter. Coach Jack swung the changes at half time and had people in lots of new positions. This proved a masterstroke as the Bushies outscored Chiltern and got back to 10 points. Unfortunately, all the petrol tickets were spent and the opposition were too strong in the last. Great to see some of the younger players standing tall with continued improvement and match experience under their belts.

Great game from the whole team today with multiple goal kickers. Good to have another first gamer in Louis Kraus today and we welcomed Rocco back last week after 9 weeks off with a fractured skull. Team got around them both. Gutsy effort by all for a well deserved win! Beechworth 7.7.49 Chiltern 4.7.31

A Grade Netball: (Defeated)

A grade came out firing against Chiltern, matching them every step of the way in the first quarter and keeping the scores level. Chiltern made some changes and managed to find another gear, eventually creating some separation on the scoreboard. Despite this, A grade continued to fight right through to the final whistle. Kera was again fantastic in defence, applying relentless pressure and did a great job of rattling her opponent. Rach was outstanding in attack, with her shooting accuracy and movement around the ring making a real impact all game. And Rat worked tirelessly in centre, covering plenty of ground and battling hard from start to finish. A tough game against a strong Chiltern side, but plenty to be proud of.

B Grade Netball: (Defeated)

C Grade Netball: (Defeated)

A well fought game throughout four tough quarters. There were some strong leads and triangle work in our attack end, providing great passages of play. The defence worked tirelessly, preventing ample goals and driving down the mid court to assist our attack end. A fantastic improvement.

C Res Netball: (Defeated)

A tough game against a well oiled Chiltern machine! As we are getting toward the end of the season, the girls were happy to all have a bit of fun and mix up positions. Our defence decided a run in attack was the go and vice versa! We have two new shooters in our versatile team of girls in Beth and Heliena! From the start of the season until now, the girls have all improved tremendously and I’m so proud of them all! They’re all happy to have a go and try anything and always take on board whatever I throw at them!

U15s Netball: (Defeated)

After a close start, Chiltern managed to pull away in the second quarter. The third quarter was a real highlight, with the girls putting on plenty of pressure and closing the gap to just six goals. Their persistence and teamwork were fantastic to watch. Unfortunately, Chiltern came out strongly in the final quarter and were able to extend their lead and secure the win, 60-46.

Despite the result, the girls can be incredibly proud of their effort against the top side.

U13s Netball: (Defeated)

A great game from our 13s today! The girls showed brilliant team spirit, growing confidence and plenty of determination. Strong work with preliminary moves, dodging and leading, along with some excellent attacking and defensive pressure. While the scoreboard didn’t go our way, the 29–9 result doesn’t reflect the growth and teamwork shown today. Be proud, girls!

U13s Res Netball: (No Score)

Another great inter-club match between our Under 13 Reserves and Under 15 Reserves! It was a fun and positive game, with great attitude, enthusiasm and team spirit shown by all players. The girls demonstrated fantastic adaptability and focus as they switched teams and took on new positions throughout the game. They worked hard to understand their roles, create space and maintain flow on the court, while eagerly taking on feedback and guidance from the coaches. A wonderful display of teamwork, growth and team spirit all round! Well done, girls!
