ROUND EIGHT vs Rutherglen

Seniors Football: 8.11 59 - 6.9 45 - Loss

Beechworth overcame a slow start to produce three quarters of determined, hard-fought football against Rutherglen. Injuries took their toll early, with the side left without a bench by half time, making the effort and intensity shown across the remainder of the game even more impressive. The team fought back strongly to level the scores during the third quarter, showing plenty of resilience and character under pressure. Despite the momentum shift, a number of questionable calls proved costly and resulted in multiple goals against at crucial stages. In the end, Beechworth could take plenty of positives from a gritty performance played under difficult circumstances.

A Grade Netball: 35 - 53 - Won

A Grade finally got their first win of the season, whoooo!! It was a real team effort today, with all 9 girls taking the court and playing their role. It wasn’t an easy game, but the girls charged home late to stamp their win. A huge milestone as Emmerson shot her 1000th goal for the club in a best on court performance. Tegan was her reliable self in defence, creating plenty of turnovers and providing strong guidance throughout the court. Hannah returned from an ankle injury seamlessly and looked strong from the minute she stepped on court.
