ROUND FOUR vs DEDERANG MT.BEAUTY

Netball

Beechworth travelled up to picturesque Mt Beauty on Saturday for a tough day of netball against a strong Dederang-Mt Beauty outfit. Despite some hard-fought contests across the grades, it was only the 15 & Under team who came away with a win for Beechworth.

A Grade
It was a fierce battle in A Grade, with Beechworth showing patches of brilliance through the midcourt and defensive end. However, Dederang-Mt Beauty’s accuracy in the goal ring and steady hands under pressure saw them pull away in the second half to claim the win.

B Grade
Beechworth’s B Grade fought valiantly in a high-intensity match. Strong defensive efforts kept the game close early, but Dederang-Mt Beauty’s experienced line-up proved too much in the final quarter, taking the win despite Beechworth’s best efforts.

C Grade
The C Grade match was another great contest, with Beechworth pushing hard throughout. Turnovers and clever ball movement gave them opportunities, but Dederang-Mt Beauty held their composure when it counted most to edge out Beechworth in the end.

17 & Under
In the 17 & Under match, Beechworth started well and matched their opponents early. However, Dederang-Mt Beauty’s defensive pressure eventually wore down Beechworth’s attack, resulting in a strong finish by the home team.

15 & Under
The highlight of the day came from Beechworth’s 15 & Under team, who played an outstanding game. With slick ball movement, strong defensive pressure, and confident shooting, they kept their composure and secured a fantastic win on the road. A brilliant team effort!

13 & Under
The 13 & Under game was full of energy and enthusiasm. Despite a spirited performance from Beechworth’s young side, Dederang-Mt Beauty capitalised on their scoring opportunities and took the points.

Although wins were hard to come by, the Beechworth players showed great determination and teamwork across all matches. Congratulations to our 15 & Under team for a fantastic win! A big thank you to the coaches, umpires, volunteers, and supporters who made the trip to Mt Beauty. We regroup and look ahead to next week’s challenges. Go Bushies!

Under 12s
Another early start on the road for the under 12s being hosted by Dederang Mt.Beauty. The boys put in a fantastic performance over the weekend, showing real heart and skill in a close match against Dederang Mt. Beauty. From the first bounce, Beechworth came out strong, moving the ball well and putting into practice what we’ve been training for. Their teamwork and determination were clear, with some great marks, and goals throughout the game. Despite their efforts, Dederang Mt. Beauty managed to edge ahead in the second half, winning by a couple of goals. It was a tough result, but the Beechworth kids should be proud of how they played—they left everything on the field.

Under 14’s
The 14s showed lots of improvement once again. they were in the contest for three and a half quarters but just couldn’t quite capitalise on some scoring opportunities which would’ve made the score a lot closer at the final siren. This group is a very young side and are improving every week.

A win is just around the corner .

Under 17s
The Beechy U17s came up against a very well drilled Dederang/Mt Beauty last weekend. It was a close and hard fought  game with Beechworth going into the last quarter with a 7 point lead. DMB had the legs to finish stronger and came away with a two goal win. The Beechworth boys can hold their heads high, they fought out the game well, and for the most part, moved the ball well. Amongst the best players were Oskar English, Fin Hoysted, Justin Sheridan and Alex Sockett.

Reserves
This weekend we finally got rewarded for the boys that have been showing up and putting their body on the line every weekend. While we had several of our top players up in the ones again, we were able to bring in some new faces and they were great. And the players really welcomed them with open arms. We couldn’t be prouder of their performance and determination.

A win was just what we needed to get the boys up and about and keep them rocking up to training.
