Under 14’s

The 14s had an exciting game to finish the season. We started the game off a bit sluggish but we finished off well to just fall short. Awesome season from the whole team, they have shown a lot of improvement as the year has gone on, well done!

Under 17s

The Under 17s had a good win against Barny on Saturday. While not their best footy of the year, a timely rest before the Finals. Congratulations to the young Bushies for their self belief and dedication to drag themselves into the finals. A big game coming up on Sunday.

Awards – Pfahlert Family – Oskar English, Beechworth Plumbing – Oli Kavanagh, Last Street – Tom Stefaniak, Beechworth Bakery- Finn Hoysted, Beechworth Accounting – Jacob wood, Himalayan Guiding – Straun Richer, Warner Excavations – George Way

Reserves

The Bushies Magoos put in another solid display against the reserves finalist in Barny. Once again, a solid 1st ½ display showed some real promise but the Tigers got the better of the lads in the second half. Thanks to all the players for their efforts for the year and to Coach Fruitta and Dayne for their cat herding skills over the Season.

Awards – Stanley Pub – Lachie Duff, Tanswells Hotel – Harry Taylor, Nicholas Hotel – Quinn Bussell, Last Street Beechworth – Dusty Romero, Beechworth Bakery – Matt Ryan, Shingleback Offroad – Gus Smiles, Players Player - Fruitta

Seniors

It was another real arm wrestle for the Bushrangers against Barnawartha, with Beechworth holding a slender 3-point lead at half time after a tough and physical first half. The third quarter proved costly, as a scrappy patch of play allowed the Tigers to stretch the margin and take control heading into the final term. The Bushies refused to lie down, however, with goals flowing in the last quarter to surge within a single point late in the game, setting up a thrilling finish. In the end, Barnawartha held on for the points, but the stage is set for a cracking battle should the sides meet again in finals. The Bushies unveiled a new secret weapon in Brayden Carey, who was everywhere with 5 goals in a best-on-ground display, ably supported by strong efforts from Jobe, Cam and Tom.

Congratulations to Cam, Tommy and Deegan as invitees for the Barton Medal Count on Monday August 25. Good Luck.
