ROUND TWO v CHILTERN

Netball

Our Beechworth netballers made the trip down to hill to play Chiltern at their first home game on their newly surfaced court. A great effort by Chiltern to get this project across the line. The two courts resulted in both U11s and U13s development matches being played, and a real buzz at the courts on Saturday morning.

Unfortunately, Chiltern were too strong across the board, with Bushies U11s bringing home the only win for the day. Our netball sides all showed fantastic potential, grit and determination, and we are looking forward to seeing what we can do as the season progresses.

A big thank you to all of our game day sponsors, including the Bridge Broad Brewery, Nicolas Hotel, The Stanley Pub, Last St Beechworth, Hall Stanley Chestnuts, CJ & BJ Surrey Builders, Beechworth Plumbing, Beechworth Bakery, Home Paws Vets, Beechworth Machinery, Goldfields Greengrocers, Sports First Myrtleford, and family donated awards from P & J Chambeyron and Fiona Stringer”

A huge congratulations to Coby (Brock) Surrey playing her 300th game of Netball for the Bushies this weekend against Kiewa Sandy Creek. Thanks Cobe for everything you have given and done for the Club. You are a dead set legend!

Football

Under 14’s

Excellent effort for 3 quarters. Good to see some hard work paying off.

Under 17s

Our under 17s showed plenty on Saturday going down late in the last quarter in a really tight match. The performance showed that our 3rds are really close and will only get better as the season goes on. Lots of heart and pride in the Bushies Red and Blue! However, as always, to win tight matches, you need to be able to focus on football first.

Reserves

The buzz in the 2’s this year, is so exciting! The improvement from this week to last is already massive, especially against such a quality team like Chiltern. No doubt, if we keep chipping away, we won’t be far off our first win of hopefully many for the season! Keeping that momentum going will definitely set us up for some wins this season! Strong contributions from Hayden cooper, Kade Parkinson, Tom Mason, Roy Dunnet De Jong!.

Seniors

The Bushrangers secured a hard-fought 9-point victory in a gritty road game, setting the tone for their season. Young stars Ronnie and Hagen played pivotal roles, showcasing their talent with standout performances. Kayde and Deegan were exceptional in defence, providing crucial support throughout the match. With contributions from every player, the team demonstrated resilience and teamwork in a true hard-fought win.

Beechworth Bakery Volunteer of the Week – Leila Curr, thanks Leila for everything you do!
