NETBALL

U13’s:
Lost 13-38. Some great netball from the girls today – heaps of defensive pressure from our midcourters and solid efforts all over the court against a strong Thurgoona side.
Awards: Lily – who stayed well connected with the defensive end and provided excellent movement and drive through the midcourt. Ellie – A standout at both ends of the court with strong shooting, rebounding, and solid defensive efforts. Ivy – Ivy’s final game with the team! As always, she played her role today with relentless determination and positivity – she’ll be missed! Milla – Strong rebounding today, maintained a great 3ft distance and balance over the shot and applied continuous hands-over pressure down the court.

13R Res:
Great effort today against a strong shooting side from Thurgoona. All the girls showed improvement throughout the match - in both their individual efforts as well overall team play. Well done
Awards: Sienna - was a superstar in defence today applying pressure, contesting every ball and was rewarded with clean intercepts and heaps of tips. Emmaline - was another stand out defender today with eyes for the ball and creating heaps of intercepting opportunities for herself and her teammates.

U15’s:
After a tight first half, the 15s really hit their straps and finished up with a 39 - 26 win. It was terrific to watch, and everyone played their role beautifully.
Awards: Violet C provided a strong option to the ball with her drives and great passing. Also showed plenty of grit when chasing down loose balls. Charli E. - has shown so much improvement across the season and is a strong target for us under the post. Her shooter-to-shooter passes were sharp and she showed awesome trust in her teammates. Issy B used her speed to shut down her opponent in WD. She also worked hard all game to lead and re-offer, passing some great balls into our goalies. Well done, team! Awesome effort by everyone.

U17’s:
BW 32 lost Thurgoona 39.
What an impressive game the girls put on today! So much energy and fun across the court, @Christie Bence and I are so proud of the development and commitment the girls are putting into themselves and their attitudes.  I think the Thurgoona girls were shellshocked by our bushies today, they had to pull out their best game to take the win today.
Awards: Gizelle Sheridan - Unstoppable today, played with so much heart and confidence, Gizelle created defensive pressure, causing so many turnovers and followed up with clean drives and possessions!!! Yasss Queen ️ Daisy Boyd - played a fast offensive game today, focused on opening the court and creating a chanel through the midcourt, holding the ring and clean possessions into the shooters.  Violet Carr - Huge shout out to Vi for stepping up today, after 4 quarters in the 15s, seamlessly  inserting herself as a beautiful option through the mid and feeding into the ring. Little pocket rocket

C Grade:
C Grade went down 35 to 68.
We went up against a very experienced and well oiled side. The girls played a beautiful game of netball and have improved in leaps and bounds since our last game against Thurgoona.
Awards this week went to: Matilda, Tilly, Jules.
And a big thank you to Harper and Eliza for stepping up from U17s and playing very strong games

B Grade:
B Grade played a hard fought game against a top of the ladder team! Our senior squad was hit hard by illness this week and it required a lot of different players and match ups. Everyone adapted and gave their all. Our leaders within the team such as the fossil (Coby) and Taya stood up to guide our younger girls onto the court. Nat V stood up again from U17’s and played an other pearler in B grade for the two quarters she could provide! We also had our young gun, Olivia Cav step into our start side. The future of our club is very very exciting with the talent of these up coming junior players.
Awards this week went to: Stanley Pub - Best on to Christie B for her versatility down both ends of the court and constant hustle as always. P & J Chambeyron award - Taya R for her speed, determination and agility in the mid-court and guidance on the court. Nicholas Hotel - Kera B one of most consistent players so far this year. Her ability to read the ball and intercept is outstanding!

The whole team played with sheer determination this week and every individual team player could have received an award. Well done girls!

A Grade:
Boy, the odds were stacked against us going into yesterday’s game with injuries, illness (thanks, super spreader ball ), and a last-minute shuffle to get our team on court.

Rolling in with a strong starting 7 and a talented bench, we knew we had the heart and grit to give it a red-hot crack, and we absolutely did. The scoreboard didn’t reflect the fight. The girls battled it out from the first whistle to the last.

Awards: Brewery – Eidenne (Rat): She’s really found her form! Rat’s become such a consistent and reliable player, dishing out some beautiful feeds and keeping our attack line ticking. Nic – Aliza: Worked tirelessly in defence. Despite not feeling 100%, she pushed through and put in a huge shift. A true team player who knew the job had to be done. Last Street & Club – Anna: Every game she’s getting better and better. We’ve swung her into goals and she’s absolutely on fire. Even snuck in a cheeky layup this week!

 Debut Shoutouts:

Matilda Collins & Issy Way made their A Grade debuts and absolutely held their own.

Matilda was cool, calm and collected, disrupted Thurgoona’s flow with some smart defensive work and nailed 4 stunning goals with just one miss. Ice in the veins.

Issy (hustling from 15’s!) at just 13 years old stepped up with no fear and 110% effort. Her talent is undeniable, the future is looking bright with players like her coming through.

Big effort, big heart. Onwards and upwards, girls
